As always summer camp is a big adventure for Troop 93. We feel the scouts like the opportunity to explore different summer camps each year. This year the troop chose Ransburg Scout Reservation in Bloomington, IN as their summer camp location. This years summer camp was attended by 16 scouts from Troop 93.
Ransburg Scout Reservation is located in the middle of the Hoosier National Forest on the banks of Lake Monroe. The Ransburg Scout Reservation was established in 1966 to serve scouts of the Central Indiana Council (now Crossroads of America Council), but now scouts from all over the world attend one of it’s 7 weeks of summer camp.
With a large variety of merit badge opportunities ranging from woodcarving to nuclear science, Ransburg offered something for everyone and the scouts took advantage of it. The 16 scouts that attended camp completed 52 merit badges and received a partial in another 14. Special awards were also given to Charlie G. for completing the mile swim and SPL Leadership Training as well as Mark D. completed two of the camp’s Duty to God awards.
Also.. let’s not forget the creation of….. the Cricket Club
