Troop 93 works with Ancient Oaks Foundation to clear Kuechmann Arboretum

Troop 93 feels strongly that it is important to preserve the natural areas in and around Lake Zurich.  We are honored to work with Ancient Oaks Foundation in the creation of the Kuechmann Kove playscape.  Removal of buckthorn and other invasive weeds will allow native plants to repopulate the area, attracting birds and butterflies back to the area.   It also provides more area for children to enjoy nature... Scouts Aid Canoers in Storm

Each year, Mrs. Gulledge of Troop 93 organizes a canoe trip on the Wisconsin River.  This summer, an unexpected storm suddenly sprang up.  The scouts quickly helped other canoers move to the shoreline and secured their canoes. Troop 93 Holds Zoom Meetings

Congratulations Jacob Morales – Eagle Scout

December 21, 2019   For his Eagle project, Jacob Morales built 12 bat houses and installed them on six 20 foot poles in the Kuechmann Arboretum.  He chose this project to raise awareness of the importance of bats in the environment.  The project was funded through donations at a local heritage event, saving significant funding for the park district. Congratulations Matthew Tomaszewski – Eagle Scout

December 21, 2019 Congratulations Matthew Tomaszewski on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Matthew Tomaszewski’s Eagle Scout project consisted of building 70 bluebird house kits for the Leave No Child Inside’s KidFest.  He managed volunteers as they built the bird house kits and trained the scouts in his troop on how to guide the children as they built the bird houses.  He...
