July 14, 2023 We have word from out West!  703-Q has completed Philmont and has arrived back home After completing the hike they arrived back at base camp.  Once back at basecamp the contingent were able to take a shower, do some laundry, and head into town to the Burrito Banquet!  After a nights rest at basecamp, they boarded a bus to Colorado to catch a flight home.... July 2023 Once the contingent was on the trail, communication back home would only happen a few times where they were on the side of a mountain or possibly at a camp that had cell service.  The images they were sending back were amazing.  The boys managed to phone home a few times while on the trail to tell of their adventures so far.     Continue reading

Contingent 703-Q leaves for Philmont

July 2023 Philmont Scout Ranch is located in Cimarron, NM and is one of the Boy Scouts of America premier High Adventure bases.  Contingent 703-Q chose and were awarded the Super Strenuous 12-29 itinerary.  This itinerary will have the backpacking over 80 miles and see Baldy Mountain (12, 441 ft), Mount Phillips (11,736 ft), Tooth of Time (9,003 ft), and a Ute Park Pass hike.  Program highlights include... Scouts continue to train for Philmont 2023

March 2023 With the change in weather, indoor mall hiking has been replaced with outdoor hiking. Scouts training for Philmont 2023 have been breaking in their gear and training to get used to hiking long distances with as much as 40 lbs. in their packs. 2023 Philmont Preparation – Taste of Philmont
