Scouts continue to train for Philmont 2023

March 2023 With the change in weather, indoor mall hiking has been replaced with outdoor hiking. Scouts training for Philmont 2023 have been breaking in their gear and training to get used to hiking long distances with as much as 40 lbs. in their packs. Coming soon are some training campouts where the scouts will carry their gear and food and also eat using their camping stoves. Continue reading

The Chicago Blackhawks welcome Troop 93 to the United Center!

April 2023 The Chicago Blackhawks welcomed Troop 93 to the United Center for Scout Night!  The scouts were able to attend a Blackhawks game as well as receive a special Blackhawks patch to commemorate the evening.  This event has become a yearly tradition with Troop 93.  The scouts enjoy the evening traveling into the big city and checking out the Blackhawks. Scouts support Matthew B. in his Eagle service project

March 2023 Matt is working with Ancient Oaks Foundation to design and assemble several seed cleaning screens.  Ancient Oaks will use these screen when volunteers with AOF clean the native grass and flower seeds they have collected over the growing season.  Matt also organized several workdays in which scouts from Troop 93 as well as friends and family gathered to help remove invasive plants such as garlic mustard... Scouts enjoy indoor camping at Camp Lowden

March 2023 15 scouts from troop 93 enjoyed some indoor cabin camping at Camp Lowden in Oregon, IL.  Camp Lowden has been serving the BSA since 1940 and is a favorite stop for our troop during the Winter months.  The scouts enjoy ourdoor hiking as well as plenty of board and card games by the fire.     Continue reading
