Fish-o-Rama!!! Prairie Club delivers yet again

August 2023 A short drive away and a fully stocked fishing pond makes the Prairie Club in Spring Grove, IL a favorite summer campout.  While camping at Spring Grove scouts usually enjoy time working on their fishing merit badge, swimming, paddle boating, and also perfecting their camping. 703-Q Completes Philmont

July 14, 2023 We have word from out West!  703-Q has completed Philmont and has arrived back home After completing the hike they arrived back at base camp.  Once back at basecamp the contingent were able to take a shower, do some laundry, and head into town to the Burrito Banquet!  After a nights rest at basecamp, they boarded a bus to Colorado to catch a flight home.... July 2023 Philmont Scout Ranch is located in Cimarron, NM and is one of the Boy Scouts of America premier High Adventure bases.  Contingent 703-Q chose and were awarded the Super Strenuous 12-29 itinerary.  This itinerary will have the backpacking over 80 miles and see Baldy Mountain (12, 441 ft), Mount Phillips (11,736 ft), Tooth of Time (9,003 ft), and a Ute Park Pass hike.  Program highlights include... Mark D. Eagle Scout Project benefits Heartland Animal Shelter

June 2023 Mark D. worked with Heartland Animal Shelter for his Eagle Project.  After partnering with the shelter, it was decided there was a need for climbing ledges and towers were needed for their cats.  Mark coordinated design, material gathering, and service opportunities for the troop to construct the towers and ledges.  Then Mark worked with Heartland to coordinate and install date and get the new equipment installed....
